From: "Julia Benson-Slaughter" To: Subject: [SPAM] [Aaccd] AACCD meeting February 3-4 Date: Wednesday, February 02, 2005 4:07 PM Apologies if you receive this more than once -- we seem to be having a few listserv problems. What: AACCD Annual Meeting Where: Georgia Perimeter College, Dunwoody Campus, E-Building, Room E-0420 When: 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Thursday, February 3 and 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon Friday, February 4, 2005 It's time for our annual meeting! We'll meet at Georgia Perimeter College's Dunwoody campus beginning at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, February 3), and reconvening at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, February 4. We will be finished by noon on Friday, to allow those of you who are from out of town to get out of Atlanta before the notorious Friday afternoon rush hour traffic really gets going. Jerry Adkins has posted a link to directions and a campus map at the committee's web site, http://turing.gcsu.edu/~aaccd/. When you arrive at the campus, the most convenient parking will be in Lot 4, the parking deck, which can be reached by going to your right around the "ring road." Be sure you place a card in your back window indicating you are attending the AACCD meeting. The meeting will be held in the E-Building, across the "ring road" from the parking deck. When you come in the ground floor entrance on the parking deck side of the building, turn to your left, and our meeting room, E-0420, will be the first room on your left. Registration for the meeting will start at 12:00 noon in Room E-420. We will be collecting a $10 registration fee at the door to cover the cost of our break refreshments. For those of you who need to grab a bite of lunch on Thursday before the meeting, our snack bar in the Student Center will be open with sandwiches, salad bar, pizza, and such available. Thursday afternoon's agenda will include an update from Board of Regents' representative Tom Maier, followed by a hands-on workshop by Jerry Adkins of Georgia College and State University in room E-0190. Jerry will takes us through a literature review of the texts, associated materials, and the software development tools we are using in the USG programs. After Jerry's workshop, we will return to E-0420 to begin examining this year's issues in subcommittees. A group dinner is planned at the Olive Garden restaurant on Ashford-Dunwoody Road at 6 p.m. If you haven't done so, please let me know if you plan to attend. Friday morning we'll have coffee and pastries available in room E-0420 around 8 a.m., and will reconvene at 8:30 to continue our subcommittee work. The formal meeting will begin around 10:30 a.m., so that we will be done by noon. I look forward to seeing all of you there!
